Spirit Spectacular

Spirit Spectacular is our first performance of the year and will showcase the other three KISD Bands and their drill teams. The report time for the Band is at 6:30pm (Percussion 5:00pm) at the KHS Band Hall. The uniform is Windsuit, Show Shirt, long black socks, and black marching shoes. We encourage everyone to come and support the Roo Band and if you are coming watch the show it starts at 8:00pm and the price of admission is $6.00 general admission.

Evening Rehearsal Schedule

Just a reminder to everyone that this week due to Teacher Inservice meetings, our rehearsal schedule this week will be from 5pm to 8pm Monday,Tuesday & Thursday. On Friday, the rehearsal schedule will be the regular 8am until 1pm. Please make sure and hydrate throughout the day as temperatures will be in the 100s throughout the week.

Hey everybody, we have been in the process of getting a website set up for the KHS Band and we are really close to having it up and running.Eventually it will replace our blog that we currently use for information. T-Shirt and Windsuit Sizes

Please make sure to email Mr. Gregg your t-shirt size and if you need a windsuit (jacket and/or pants), please submit those sizes as well. 


Note: All freshmen and new marchers are required to purchase a KHS Band Windsuit.

Drumline Camp #2 this week

To all percussionists:


This is just a reminder about this week's Drumline Camp. It is Monday-Thursday from 12:30-6:30 and Saturday 8:30am -5:30pm in the KHS Band Hall. Please bring Water, comfortable clothing, tennis shoes and your Drumline Binder (if applicable)

Drum Corps International (DCI) Performances

We are in the process of trying to coordinate a trip to watch a DCI (Drum Corps International) show. DCI is a group of competitive professional marching bands comprised of  High School to College-aged students. The first opportunity is the Southwestern Championship live in San Antonio at the Alamodome on July 21st. The second is the World Championship Prelims, which will be shown in the Market Heights movie theater on August 9th. We would like to go to either one of these events but it depends on if there is demand for it. There is a poll posted here to see if members are interested in going. Please take time to click on the poll, so we can figure out which performance we will possibly go to.

Band Packets and Info

Band Packets and Info were sent out last week, If you are a returning or new member of the band and you didn't receive, please email Mr.Gregg.

2012-2013 Show Shirt and Sizes

Here is the design for our new show shirt for the upcoming school year! Show we can order enough for the band, please email Mr. Gregg, the amount of shirts you need and the size you need as well. 


Also, please send in your size for your windsuit ASAP.

Freshman Boot Camp

Don’t forget that Freshmen Boot Camp is next Tuesday June 5^th and Wednesday June 6^th from 9am until Noon (Officer Corp at 8:30am). Bring Tennis Shoes and water.

Graduation Band

Reminder:

Report time for Graduation on Sunday 4:00 PM at the Band Hall

Dress is Sunday Best (Guys: Dress Shirt/Shirt and tie  and slacks or khakis; Ladies: Nice dress or blouse and dress pants) It will be cold in the Expo Center, so bring a light jacket.

After graduation is done, if you have a school owned instrument, leave it in the band hall unless you are checking one out for the summer, then see Mr. Gregg.

Band Banquet Tickets

Band Banquet are still on sale until this Friday! Please stop by the cashier and get your tickets soon! Also remember to leave your Driver's License information at the Band office to get onto post for the Band Banquet!

Band Banquet Pictures

If anyone has any pictures that they have taken of the band this year, please send them into Band Office, to have them put into the slide show at the band banquet. ALSO SENIORS PARENTS, if you have baby pictures, please get them to me ASAP!

Band Concert Tomorrow!

Everyone is invited to our Band Spring Concert, which is tomorrow at 7pm in the KHS Auditorium. Its our last concert of the year and there will plenty of good music to enjoy. Please come and have a good time!

Band Banquet

The KHS Band Banquet is set for May 25th at the Officer's Club on Fort Hood (Also known as Club Hood) at 7pm until 11pm. Tickets go on Sale Tomorrow and they are $20 Payable to the Cashier. There will be Dinner, A Slide Show, Awards and Dancing. The dress is Semi-Formal. No T-Shirts or Jeans allowed.

Band Parent Meeting

I know it has been some time since our last one but its that time again. I'd like to have at least one more parent meeting before the end of the school year. The meeting will be on Tuesday May 1st at 7pm in the Band Hall. Hope to see everyone there.

UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest

Well it's that time again! The UIL Concert and Sigthreading Contest is next Wednesday April 11th at Copperas Cove High School.


Symphonic Band's performance is at 11:30AM
Wind Ensemble's performance is at 5:00PM


Both Bands would love to have a live audience to play for and would love for parents, friends, etc. to come out and support them. An itinerary will be given out to all the members of both bands soon.

Pre-UIL Concert this Thursday!

This Thursday, March 8th, the KHS Bands will be having their Pre-UIL Concert in the KHS Auditorium along with the bands from Rancier Middle School and Smith Middle School. The report time for the KHS Symphonic Band is 6:45pm and the report time for the KHS Wind Ensemble is 7:15pm. The dress is our concert uniform: Concert Black Dresses for the ladies and Tuxedos for the gentlemen. Everyone has to be fitted in their uniform by Wednesday.
